The Conway Wampus Cats will be playing at home against the Bryant Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Conway has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Bryant will arrive with 21 straight wins.
Conway pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Jonesboro by a score of 59-56. While losing is never fun, Conway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Jonesboro is ranked 19th).
Even though Bryant has not done well against North Little Rock recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Bryant came out on top against North Little Rock by a score of 64-53.
Kellen Robinson was his usual excellent self, scoring 33 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Bryant's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rj Young, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Conway has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Bryant, they pushed their record up to 21-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home.
Conway didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Bryant in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 47-43 victory. Will Conway repeat their success, or does Bryant have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
