Baseball Recap: Vardaman Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Vardaman won the last time they faced West Lowndes and things went their way on Thursday too. The Rams put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 13-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Kinlynn McGreger looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brady White, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Vardaman's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Moore, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Vardaman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .535 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Vardaman pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Lowndes, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
