On Saturday, Roaring Fork humbled Gunnison with a 70-41 victory. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Cowboys are ranked 247th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roaring Fork to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiko Pena, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance also gave Pena a new career-high in field goal percentage (80%). Another player making a difference was Lucas Carballeira, who went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, it may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Meeker ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 56-52 W over Gunnison. Meeker hasn't had any issues with Gunnison recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Meeker's win came from a few key players Roaring Fork will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cade Mills, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Meeker is 2-1 when Mills posts ten or more rebounds, but 2-12 otherwise. Drew Drake was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards.
Roaring Fork has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points over those games. As for Meeker, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Roaring Fork has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Meeker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Roaring Fork against Meeker when the teams last played two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 66-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roaring Fork since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
