Beech Grove is a perfect 7-0 against Pike since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Hornets will take on the Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Beech Grove has three straight victories, Pike has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Beech Grove got the win against Warren Central by a conclusive 8-1.
Kyrah Pierle looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mylee Boling was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Harper Moore was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Beech Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Pike and Herron meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Red Devils lost 17-3 to the Achaeans.
Pike also got a good showing from Claudia Nyakang'i, who pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Pike saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilianna Richardson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Kamya Smith also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Pike's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Beech Grove, their record now sits at 4-7-1.
Everything went Beech Grove's way against Pike in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Beech Grove made off with a 14-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
