The Boyertown Bears won the last time they faced the Antietam Mountaineers, and things went their way on Monday too. Boyertown skirted past Antietam 56-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Boyertown.
Boyertown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brant Rath, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds. Trey Kern was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Several Mountaineers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was AJ Schiefly, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals. Schiefly scored a full 35.2% of Antietam's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawn Raffety, who scored 13 points.
Boyertown's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Antietam, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Boyertown will be playing at home against Conrad Weiser at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Antietam, they will head out on the road to face off against Pottsgrove at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
