The Sports Leadership & Management Bulls's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 77-67 to Fernley. While losing is never fun, Sports Leadership & Management can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Fernley is ranked 17th).
When it comes to explaining why Sports Leadership & Management lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andre Cade. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Cade scored a full 34.3% of Sports Leadership & Management's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Pablo Cruz, who scored ten points.
Sports Leadership & Management has fallen quite a ways from their 28-4 record last season and are now at 3-7. As for Fernley, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Sports Leadership & Management will be home for the holidays to greet Elko at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fernley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Boulder City at 6:30 p.m. on December 21st. One thing working in Boulder City's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
