If the Troy Warriors were feeling good off their 68-34 takedown of the Fullerton Indians last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Troy had to suffer through a rough 75-48 loss at the hands of Somerset Academy Losee. While losing is never fun, Troy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 147th in California, while Somerset Academy Losee is ranked tenth in Nevada).
It was another big night for Roderick Johnson, who scored 18 points for Somerset Academy Losee. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Finley , who scored 11 points.
Troy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Somerset Academy Losee, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Troy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northwood on January 6, 2024. Northwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Troy likes a good challenge. Somerset Academy Losee won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Legacy at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th. Legacy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
