It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Franklin Central Flashes can now relate to. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 61-60 to the Red Devils. Franklin Central's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Franklin Central still got an impressive performance from Payton Duvall, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Duvall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniya Doughty, who scored ten points.
Franklin Central's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Pike, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-14.
Franklin Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pike and the Quakers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Plainfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully the Red Devils like a good challenge.
