After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three game, The Carver Birmingham Rams finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They were dealt a 47-0 defeat at the hands of Pleasant Grove. Carver Birmingham has struggled against Pleasant Grove recently, as their contest on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Pleasant Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Collin Moore, who rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Moore's longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Handley, who threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes.
Carver Birmingham has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Pleasant Grove, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Carver Birmingham will head out on the road to face off against Ramsay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ramsay presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Carver Birmingham in Alabama (Ramsay is ranked 15th, while Carver Birmingham is ranked 185th). As for Pleasant Grove, they will be playing at home against Jasper at 10:00 p.m. on October 27th.
