Even though the Northridge Academy Pumas have not done well against the Sherman Oaks CES Knights recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Northridge Academy secured a 56-52 W over the Knights. The score was all tied up 18-18 at the break, but Northridge Academy was the better team in the second half.
Leading Northridge Academy to victory were Anthony Indzhukushyan and Marquis Jiles. Indzhukushyan scored 18 points, while Jiles scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was E'Xavier Brown, who scored eight points.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carlo Canas, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre O'Daniel, who scored 18 points.
Northridge Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season. As for Sherman Oaks CES, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-14.
Northridge Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. East Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.1 points per game this season. As for Sherman Oaks CES, they will head out on the road to take on the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Fulton is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
