East Lake (Tarpon Springs, Fla.) extended its winning streak to 12 games with a 45-0 victory over Pinellas Park (Largo, Fla.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Jake Hudson to
Artavis Scott in the first quarter, the Eagles were up 31-0 at the half.
East Lake expanded its lead to 45 points entering the fourth quarter. EL scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Weston Fordham.
The Tarpon Springs school came into the game allowing 6.2 points per game. Pinellas Park's zero points were well below their season average of 33.3 per game. Pinellas Park came in allowing just 10.0 points per game this season. PP had a hard time against East Lake's offense, who entered the game scoring 44.1 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Pinellas Park, which notched a 32-7 victory over Sarasota in its previous outing. The loss ended Pinellas Park's three-game winning streak.
