Victory Christian Center got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Justyn Whitfield out in front who scored 16 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Abdulai Kabba Fanta, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Chambers strolled past Salisbury with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 87-71.
Chambers' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Markus Kerr, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was Kerr's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maurio Hanson II, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Victory Christian Center's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-4. As for Chambers, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Thursday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Victory Christian Center have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 32.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Chambers, though, as they've been averaging only 31.1 rebounds per game.
