Softball Game Preview: Timberline Blazers vs. Lincoln Abes

The Timberline Blazers will head out on the road to take on the Lincoln Abes at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Timberline has three straight victories, Lincoln has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Timberline barely beat River Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Timberline was the clear victor by a 21-11 margin over River Ridge on Tuesday. Fans of the Blazers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

The team relied heavily on Lillian Covey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Gilmore, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Timberline was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Lincoln came up short against Gig Harbor on Monday, falling 21-8.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Timberline, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
