The Sandhills Classical Christian Lions will head out on the road to take on the Lee Christian Falcons at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Sandhills Classical Christian has given up an average of 16.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Thursday, Sandhills Classical Christian came up short against Liberty Christian Academy and fell 12-8. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brock Wood and Noah Hudgins did some serious damage despite the final result: Wood scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Hudgins went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Wood is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least three every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Lee Christian, as they earned their first away win of the season. They were the clear victors by a 23-8 margin over New Life Christian Academy on Thursday. With that victory, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.
Kaydan Brower made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Brower was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Lee Christian is undefeated when Brower posts two or more runs, but 0-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, Patrick Grant and Jordan Wilson did most of the damage at the plate: Grant went 5-for-6 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Wilson scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. Grant has become a key player for Lee Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jeivani Victorero, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Lee Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .592. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Lee Christian's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for Sandhills Classical Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Sandhills Classical Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Lee Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits.
