Given Bosco Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Mary Star of the Sea is ranked 374th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bosco Tech's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Erami, who scored 20 points. Erami has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Benitez, who scored 16 points.
Bosco Tech has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Mary Star of the Sea, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-6.
Bosco Tech will look to defend their home court on Friday against Verbum Dei Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. Verbum Dei Jesuit is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Mary Star of the Sea, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Genevieve at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Genevieve has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 16.
