They will square off against the Providence Athletic Club Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in New Hope Leadership Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
New Hope Leadership Academy pushed their score all the way to 62 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Anderson C. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as New Hope Leadership Academy came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 593rd).
The losing side was boosted by Sugar Eaton, who scored 34 points. He hasn't dropped below 22 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jailen Anderson, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Providence Athletic Club was able to grind out a solid victory over the Wildcats on Saturday, taking the game 58-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Providence Athletic Club.
New Hope Leadership Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Providence Athletic Club, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.
New Hope Leadership Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Panthers when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 62-57 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Hope Leadership Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
