Softball Recap: Curtis Wins Going Away Against Port Richmond

Curtis won the last time they faced Port Richmond and things went their way on Monday too. The Warriors put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 11-5 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Abigail Hynes made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs but no hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.

Curtis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Curtis' win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Port Richmond, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.
