The Lompoc Braves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Templeton Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Lompoc was handed a 29-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Atascadero on Tuesday. Lompoc came out on top in a nail-biter against Atascadero and snuck past 61-58. The victory was just what Lompoc needed coming off of a 66-37 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Templeton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-64 win over Nipomo. Given Templeton's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while Nipomo is ranked 975th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ryan Mcnamee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Luke Asplund, who scored 12 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Lompoc's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Templeton, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Lompoc was dealt a bruising 79-51 loss at the hands of Templeton in their previous meeting on January 9th. Will Lompoc have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
