Even though the Garden Grove Argonauts scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, the Katella Knights still came out on top. Katella managed a 59-55 win over Garden Grove. That's another feather in the cap for Katella, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Katella's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joseph Damian, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dillon Curtis, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Several Argonauts players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Juarez, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Juarez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Drue Anzai, who scored 14 points.
Katella's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-12. As for Garden Grove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Katella will face off against Godinez Fundamental at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Godinez Fundamental will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. As for Garden Grove, they will head out on the road to square off against Ocean View at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ocean View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
