After flying high against the Bella Vista Broncos last Tuesday, the Casa Roble Rams came back down to earth. Casa Roble fell to Vista del Lago 75-71. Casa Roble has not had much luck with Vista del Lago recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Casa Roble still got an impressive performance from Benny Ambriz, who scored 22 points. Ambriz scored a full 31% of Casa Roble's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Moses Oginni, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds.
It was another big night for Owen Pettus, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 10 rebounds for Vista del Lago. Pettus continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Kramer, who scored 12 points.
Casa Roble's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Vista del Lago, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Casa Roble won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Argonaut at 5:30 p.m. on December 1st. Argonaut knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Casa Roble likes a good challenge. As for Vista del Lago, they will square off against El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
