Baseball Recap: Edison Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lanier on Friday, Edison came back down to earth. The Golden Bears fell just short of the Jefferson Mustangs by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Golden Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Julius Ramirez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Edison is 4-1 when Ramirez posts two or more runs, but 2-9-1 otherwise. Eddi Nunez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10-1. As for Jefferson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8-1 record this season.

Edison will take on Brackenridge at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Golden Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Jefferson, they will face off against Burbank at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
