After only seven points in their last game, The Platte Valley Broncos made sure to put some points up on the board against the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners on Thursday. Platte Valley took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 55-7 victory over Prospect Ridge Academy. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.
Platte Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JOSH EAGLETON, who picked up 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jackson Bauer got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Prospect Ridge Academy to a paltry 144 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Platte Valley's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by BRYANT BEAMAN and JAYCOB CHAVARRIA-COGBURN who racked up four sacks between them.
Platte Valley's victory was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 5-4. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Prospect Ridge Academy, Bennett, and Valley. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Platte Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Prospect Ridge Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
