Softball Recap: Baltic's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Baltic had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Elkton/Lake Benton Elks 19-4 on Thursday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Baltic got a massive performance out of Ellie Pickett, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Pickett a new career-high. Jordyn Wehde was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Baltic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Baltic's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Elkton/Lake Benton, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baltic will head out to face off against Chamberlain at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Elkton/Lake Benton, they will venture away from home to take on Parker on Monday. The Pheasants have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.94 runs per game on average), something the Elks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
