Sunnydale Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Christian Fellowship 43-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Sunnydale Academy has posted against Christian Fellowship since January 7, 2020.
Savannah Rester was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassie Abrahamson, who scored nine points.
Several Christian Fellowship players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Kate Bradley, who scored ten points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Kylie Babich, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Sunnydale Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Christian Fellowship, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sunnydale Academy will take on Hallsville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Christian Fellowship, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Wright City at 7:00 p.m.
