With a playoff game on the line, Young Americans Christian rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy as Young Americans Christian made off with a 62-42 win. The result was nothing new for Young Americans Christian, who have now won seven games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Young Americans Christian relied on the efforts of Jayden Sigur, who rushed for 137 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, and Caleb Blunt, who rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Blunt is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Sherwood Christian Academy faced Lafayette Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sherwood Christian Academy enjoyed a cozy 60-42 victory over Lafayette Christian two weeks ago. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Young Americans Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0.
