The Richland Northeast Cavaliers were the 47-45 winner over the Irmo Yellowjackets when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Richland Northeast fell to the Yellowjackets 44-38.
Richland Northeast lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being William Wilson, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Scriven, who scored ten points.
Irmo was led to victory by Jeremy Anderson and AJ Brand. Anderson scored 12 points along with six rebounds, while Brand scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Jaden Henderson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Richland Northeast dropped their record down to 12-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Irmo, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-16.
Richland Northeast will head out on the road to take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Irmo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blazers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
