The Southern Durham Spartans can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Durham School of the Arts 66-20 at home. The win was familiar territory for Southern Durham who now have seven in a row.
Southern Durham was led to victory by Briana Hughes and Jakayla Palmer. Hughes scored 20 points along with three steals, while Palmer almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine steals. It was the first time this season that Palmer scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Hudson, who scored six points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Southern Durham's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Durham School of the Arts, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Southern Durham will challenge Louisburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Southern Durham is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season. As for Durham School of the Arts, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Granville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Durham School of the Arts is facing South Granville at the right time seeing as South Granville is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
