They really took it to Otis for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-26 win at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Akron also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
Addicyn Kessinger had a dynamite game for Akron, scoring 25 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kessinger has scored at least 25% of Akron's points. Kinsey Grauer was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals.
Despite the defeat, Otis saw an underclassman step up: Aedyn Tribelhorn scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds. Tribelhorn scored a full 34.6% of Otis' points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Akron now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Otis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Akron will square off against Dayspring Christian Academy at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Otis will be home for the holidays to greet Stratton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
