Westwood is 10-0 against Blythewood since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Westwood Redhawks will be playing at home against the Blythewood Bengals at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Westwood slipped by Lakewood 41-40.

Westwood found their leader in sophomore Aneya Britt, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. Britt has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Omeire, who posted seven points and six rebounds.
Westwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Blythewood entered their tilt with Crestwood on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They enjoyed a cozy 65-48 win over the Knights. Given the Bengals' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Knights are ranked 110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westwood better keep an eye on Chase Thomas. She was instrumental in Blythewood's win, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 14 boards. India Williams was another key player, going 8 of 17 on her way to 23 points along with seven assists and three blocks.
Blythewood pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Westwood, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Westwood has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Blythewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Westwood was able to grind out a solid victory over Blythewood in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 49-41. Will Westwood repeat their success, or does Blythewood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
