The Lehigh Christian Academy Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Notre Dame Spartans at 3:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lehigh Christian Academy's five-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end last Monday. They managed a 55-50 win over Roberto Clemente Charter School. The victory was just what Lehigh Christian Academy needed coming off of a 101-46 defeat in their prior match.
Among those leading the charge was Jacob Lewis, who scored 29 points along with nine rebounds. Jeremiah Stinvil was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame waltzed into their match Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They put the hurt on Lehigh Valley Academy with a sharp 58-36 victory. Given Notre Dame's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Lehigh Valley Academy is ranked 434th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The victory got Lehigh Christian Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Notre Dame, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Lehigh Christian Academy was taken down by Notre Dame 81-47 when the teams last played back in January. Can Lehigh Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
