The Franklin Indians are taking a road trip to square off against the Dundalk Owls at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Dundalk likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, Franklin got the win against Parkville by a conclusive 19-3. The Indians have beaten the Knights the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.

Scarlett Cornwell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Franklin got a massive performance out of Lanee Houser, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Trager, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Dundalk was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They fell just short of Hereford by a score of 3-1.
Julie Burger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, Dundalk saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenisha Gelpi, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Dundalk's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Franklin, their record is now 3-0.
Franklin suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Dundalk when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Franklin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
