With a playoff game on the line, the Birmingham Patriots rose to the challenge on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 49-7 on the road. Considering Birmingham has won 11 games by more than 28 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Birmingham to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dredon Fowles, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronnell Hewitt, who rushed for 174 yards while picking up 10.2 yards per carry.
The win was the eighth in a row for Birmingham, bringing their record for this year to 11-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Garfield, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.
Birmingham will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Del Norte at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Garfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
