In what's become a running theme this season, the Holcomb Longhorns gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 65-42 margin over Ulysses. Given Holcomb's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Ulysses is ranked 239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Holcomb was led to victory by Jera Kruleski and Halle Jones. Kruleski scored 19 points along with five assists, while Jones went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 0 assists. Jones hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Jaylee Wickwar was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Holcomb's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Ulysses, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-13.
Holcomb didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-29 win vs. Scott on the 9th. Ulysses has also already played their next match, a 41-31 defeat against Cimarron on the 9th.
