It was a good run, but the Lewis-Palmer Rangers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. Their tough 72-46 loss to Lutheran might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lewis-Palmer has scored all season.
Lewis-Palmer lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Noah Johnson, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Edmondson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Lutheran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hunter Caldwell, who shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds. Caldwell is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Braydon Jacob, who scored 22 points.
Lewis-Palmer's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewis-Palmer will take on Discovery Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Discovery Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Lutheran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Air Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
