The Frazier Commodores won the last time they faced the Bentworth Bearcats, and things went their way on Monday too. Frazier enjoyed a cozy 63-46 victory over Bentworth. Frazier pushed the score to 50-29 by the end of the third, a deficit Bentworth cut but never quite recovered from.
Frazier's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brock Alekson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Alekson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Dailan Mcmanus was another key contributor, scoring 25 points along with two steals.
Bentworth's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Moessner, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Urcho, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Bentworth smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Frazier's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Bentworth, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.
Frazier will head out on the road to take on Charleroi at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bentworth won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fort Cherry at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Fort Cherry has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 614 points over their last nine games.
