Walnut has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Charleston Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Walnut will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Charleston is ranked 34th).
Last Thursday, Walnut suffered a tough 44-22 defeat at the hands of East Union.
Meanwhile, Charleston had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 32-14 victory over Leflore County. 32 seems to be a good number for Charleston as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Marcus Flowers jr was his usual excellent self, rushing for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Flowers jr is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Walnut has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Charleston, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
