The Sanger Apaches will be taking part in a tournament against the Highland Scots at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sanger 1.6, Highland 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Sanger's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Justin Garza as they made off with a 13-0 victory. Considering the Apaches have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Amber Estrada made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brea Poindexter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Samantha Guerra was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Sanger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Justin Garza only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Highland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Bakersfield Christian 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Scots have posted since March 8th.
The result came thanks to Lilliana Garcia's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Highland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamilla Baltazar, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Highland is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sanger, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.
Both Sanger and Highland just can't seem to miss. The Apaches have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
