This season hasn't been kind to the Keller Central Chargers, who are still winless after their tenth game. They were the victim of a tough 35-14 loss at the hands of Timber Creek on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Keller Central in their matchups with Timber Creek: they've now lost four in a row.
Keller Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Spencer Martin, who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown. Martin was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards.
Keller Central bumped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-0 Byron Nelson and 13-1 Southlake Carroll (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.1% over those games). As for Timber Creek, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Keller Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Timber Creek will square off against Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Trinity is ranked 65th, while Timber Creek is ranked 72nd).
