Watauga (Boone, N.C.) notched 13 points on top of its 25-point lead going into the fourth quarter to win against Foard (Newton, N.C.) 48-10.
After taking the lead on an
Aaron Dobbins touchdown pass to
Cameron Baker in the first quarter, the Pioneers were up 21-10 at the half.
Watauga grew its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. WHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Dobbins.
Dobbins and Baker were an excellent passing duo during the game. Baker caught three touchdowns and Dobbins threw three. Baker has now caught three touchdowns this season, while Dobbins has thrown three.
Foard's lone touchdown came on a pass in the second quarter.
The Boone school came into the game allowing 15.2 points per game.
In a 4A/3A Conference 2 game next week Foard (0-6) takes on Hibriten, and Watauga (6-0) will go up against Freedom also in a 4A/3A Conference 2 game.
