Adena is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Southeastern is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Warriors will welcome the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Adena is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.
Adena is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Piketon just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Redstreaks by a score of 4-3.
Addy Cottrill was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Southeastern hadn't done well against Westfall recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Mustangs 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since May 16, 2025.
Kylie Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Molly Lowry was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lydia Williams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Southeastern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 13-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Adena's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Southeastern, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Adena has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .475. However, it's not like Southeastern struggles in that department as they've averaged .461. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Adena came out on top in a nail-biter against Southeastern in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
