The Austintown-Fitch Falcons won the last time they faced the Howland Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Austintown-Fitch walked away with a 51-40 win over Howland. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Austintown-Fitch.
Deshawn Vaughn continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcel Finkley, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Howland lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alex Henry, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. John Perry was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds and two blocks.
Austintown-Fitch's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Howland, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Austintown-Fitch will challenge Newark at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Newark is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Howland, they will head out on the road to challenge Boardman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boardman has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
