The Mainland Buccaneers posted their biggest victory since November 21, 2023 on Friday. They breezed by Spruce Creek on the road to the tune of 81-51. With Mainland ahead 50-27 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Mainland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nathan Kirk led the charge by scoring 21 points along with six assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Narayan Thomas, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds.
Mainland's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Spruce Creek, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Mainland on the road again on Saturday and play against IMG Academy Blue at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. IMG Academy Blue has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 290 points over their last four matchups. As for Spruce Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Smyrna Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. New Smyrna Beach presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Spruce Creek in Florida (New Smyrna Beach is ranked 216th, while Spruce Creek is ranked 440th).
