Meanwhile, Scholars Guild Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Covington Academy 18-3. Fans of the Spartans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Madison Kenny made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Scholars Guild Academy got a massive performance out of Noelle Boeckman, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Alanna Maher was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Scholars Guild Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Scholars Guild Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
