Lakeland Regional is 1-9 against the Patriots since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lakeland Regional Lancers will head out on the road to square off against the Wayne Hills Patriots at 4:15 p.m. Hopefully Lakeland Regional focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Lakeland Regional ended up a good deal behind the Highlanders and lost 62-48. Lakeland Regional has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Lakeland Regional got a solid performance out of Noah Pagan, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tyler Lynn, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Even though they lost, Lakeland Regional smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. This was only their ninth loss (out of 12 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Meanwhile, Wayne Hills had just enough and edged the Hornets out 53-50 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wayne Hills.
Lakeland Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Wayne Hills, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
Lakeland Regional came up short against the Patriots in their previous matchup back in January, falling 56-43. Can Lakeland Regional avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
