Softball Recap: Jackson-Reed Has No Trouble Against Coolidge

Jackson-Reed got themselves on the board against Coolidge on Thursday, but Coolidge never followed suit. They blew past the Colts 19-0. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 11 runs or more this season.

Alex Nehrer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, London Cullins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Grace Harscheid was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Jackson-Reed always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .581 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

Jackson-Reed is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Coolidge, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Jackson-Reed is taking a road trip to take on Potomac School at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Coolidge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
