Pecos is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Seminole a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Pecos Eagles will be playing at home against the Seminole Indians at 5:00 p.m. Neither Pecos nor Seminole posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.
Pecos took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Greenwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Rangers 2-1 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Carysa Campos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Seminole fell victim to Monahans and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Loboes, falling 13-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Indians haven't been shut out since back in February.
Seminole's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Pecos, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-11-1.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pecos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Seminole struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pecos suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Seminole in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
