Guilderland can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Massapequa Chiefs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Flying Dutchmen have posted since April 10th.

Kyler Ackert looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit.

On the hitting side, Guilderland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Scott, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Carter Sweeney also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Guilderland picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-9. As for Massapequa, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Guilderland will welcome Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Massapequa, they will head out to square off against Columbia at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
