Green Mountain and Evergreen are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Rams will host the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Green Mountain comes in on four and Evergreen on five.
Green Mountain had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Air Academy on Saturday. The Rams blew past the Kadets 11-3. The contest marked the Rams' most dominant win of the season so far.
Demetreus Padilla and Simon Lunsford made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Padilla pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lunsford tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, Padilla posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At bat, Padilla scored two runs while going 4-for-5, while Lunsford went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hudson Burke, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of DD Lopez, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Green Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Evergreen). They were the clear victors by a 20-3 margin over Wheat Ridge on Saturday. Considering the Cougars have won four games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Evergreen got a massive performance out of Jack Berendes, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Brody March, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Evergreen's victory bumped their record up to 7-3-1. As for Green Mountain, their win bumped their record up to an identical 7-3-1.
Green Mountain couldn't quite finish off Evergreen in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
