Doniphan-Trumbull is 7-0 against Central City since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Central City Bison at 6:00 p.m. Doniphan-Trumbull will be strutting in after a victory while Central City will be coming in after a loss.
Doniphan-Trumbull scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Kenesaw by a score of 50-37. The victory was just what Doniphan-Trumbull needed coming off of a 43-17 defeat in their prior match.
Doniphan-Trumbull's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Rainforth led the charge by scoring 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for Rainforth. Charlee Richter was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Central City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 42-17 walloping at the hands of Minden. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central City in their matchups with Minden: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Central City got a solid performance out of Addie Buhlke, who scored six points.
The win got Doniphan-Trumbull back to even at 2-2. As for Central City, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Everything went Doniphan-Trumbull's way against Central City when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as Doniphan-Trumbull made off with a 44-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Doniphan-Trumbull since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
