The Bison Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 74-34 loss at the hands of Timber Lake. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Bison has suffered against Timber Lake since January 20, 2020.
When it comes to explaining why Bison lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rylee Veal. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 41.2% of Bison's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Stadler, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Bison's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Timber Lake, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bison won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kadoka at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Kadoka focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Tuesday. As for Timber Lake, they will head out on the road to face off against Mobridge-Pollock at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
